敘利亞從2011年爆發內戰以來，已經造成25萬人遇害，並迫使敘利亞半數人口逃離家園，在國際上製造了龐大的400萬難民，而單是在敘利亞境內就有大約760萬人流離失所。

黎巴嫩媒體報導，英國首相卡麥隆(David Cameron)在今天(14日)抵達貝魯特(Beirut)，探視為逃避戰火、來自敘利亞的難民。在黎巴嫩的敘利亞難民已經超過100萬，另有數十萬人逃往歐洲。
